About the Event

We feature a headliner who does two 10-minute sets and we guarantee a spot to everyone who wishes to share their work with us. It's anything goes; we just ask that you be respectful of our various communities and be mindful of content/triggers. Hope to see you there!

Our Feature:

Mary Ann Mulhern was born in St. Thomas, ON. She taught in St. Thomas, London and Windsor.  She writes narrative poetry and has published eight books of poetry with Black Moss Press.  Mary Ann was influenced by John B. Lee, Marty Gervais, Patrick Lane and Margaret Atwood.. Two of her books, “Touch the Dead” and “When Angels Weep”, were short-listed for the Acorn-Plantos Award. Mary Ann was interviewed by Mary Hynes of CBC Radio’s Tapestry about her book “The Red Dress”, an all-revealing book about the life of a single woman who enters the convent and watches her life become transformed by the strict rules of the church and her religious order. Mary Ann’s most recent book, “The Midnight Moon Sings of Murder” tells the tragic tale of the Donnelly family of Lucan ON. A “pre-launch” was held at Windsor Yacht Club, Jan. 25. Mary Ann plans to read in Lucan once Covid has cleared or there is a vaccine. Since April 2019, Mary Ann Mulhern has been Poet Laureate of Windsor.
